Welcome to j. Marie Jewelry 

For four generations Dustin's family has been handcrafting turquoise jewelry and are well known silversmith's throughout the southwest. Creativity along with entrepreneurship run deep on both sides of his family. I knew when I married him we weren't going to live a "normal" 9-5 lifestyle and that's alright with me! I've always had an adventurous spirit, so it works!

In August of 2013 we were visiting family in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We'd just made a major decision to leave behind the construction company we had worked so hard to build. It was one of the most difficult decisions we've ever had to make. We were hoping and praying this trip would shed some light on what our next endeavor should be.

 We took a day trip up to Santa Fe and walked around the historic Plaza where Native American's line the streets to display their handmade jewelry. That evening Dustin surprised me with a copper bracelet he had purchased from one of the Plaza vendors. I loved it! The wheels in our heads started turning.

Before heading back home to Nashville, we stopped by the jewelry supply store in Albuquerque and bought enough copper to make a handful of bracelet and earring designs we had sketched. Several weeks later we attended the Nashville Flea Market and set up a small table with our creations. When we think back on what our display looked like, we can't help but laugh. It was so hokey! Despite the amateur appearance, we sold nearly every piece of jewelry. We knew we were onto something. The response from our customers was so encouraging and we continued selling at the flea market until eventually we outgrew it.

The fact that we can spend our days being creative together, while providing for our family, means everything to us. We're grateful for all the family and friends who have supported us along the way.
