Our Sealed Copper

Copper naturally oxidizes as it reacts to atmospheric oxygen. When left unsealed it  forms a layer of copper oxide that acts as protection for the underlying metal. Most people have heard that copper will "turn your skin green".  The oxidation that forms will rub off when worn and may stain the skin. This is completely normal, but can be annoying.

We take the extra time and care to seal all our jewelry in a protective coating not once, but twice! This will keep the jewelry looking as good as the day you bought it.

It's important to remember that the better care you take of your copper the longer the coating will last. Harsh chemicals like cleaning products, hand sanitizers, and soapy water can start to deteriorate the coating. Avoid these things when wearing j. Marie to extend the life of your one-of-a-kind piece!
